I’m Jo, the owner and lead practitioner at Beverley Laser & Skin Studio. I’ve worked in the laser and skincare industry for more than 20 years, building my experience around professional IPL treatments, advanced skincare and helping clients feel confident about their skin.
Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to work with a wide range of clients and skin concerns, and I believe that experience matters. Every person’s skin, hair type and treatment goals are different, which is why I take the time to listen, assess and recommend treatments that are right for you.
Over 20 years of experience with Ellipse IPL
One of the most important parts of my experience is my long-standing work with the Ellipse IPL system.
I have been working with Ellipse for more than 20 years, giving me extensive hands-on experience with the technology and the treatments it can provide. Ellipse is an established IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) system used professionally for a range of skin and hair concerns.
Unlike a one-size-fits-all approach, IPL treatments need to be carefully considered according to your skin type, hair type, concerns and treatment goals. My experience with Ellipse allows me to take a considered, personalised approach to your treatment, from your initial consultation and patch test through to your treatment plan and aftercare.
My aim is always to provide treatments safely, carefully and professionally, while making sure you understand what is involved and what you can realistically expect.
A career built on experience
My career in laser and skincare began at Millvale Clinic in Kirkella, where I first developed my experience within a professional clinical environment.
I later went on to work at holdernesss Laser Clinic in Hessle until its closed further developing my knowledge and practical experience with laser and IPL treatments.
Having spent more than two decades working with the Ellipse system, I have seen the technology and the industry develop over the years. I continue to keep my knowledge and skills up to date so that I can offer clients a professional and informed service.
Continuing my skincare education
Alongside my laser and IPL experience, I have also worked extensively with Skin Med, based in the Harrogate area, developing my knowledge of professional skincare and advanced treatments.
Skin Med specialises in areas including chemical peels, microneedling and professional skincare, and this experience has helped me build a broader understanding of skin health and how different treatments can work together.
I believe that good skincare isn't simply about carrying out a treatment. It's about understanding the skin, choosing appropriate treatments and helping clients look after their skin before and after their appointment.

That's why I offer a free, no-obligation consultation before treatment. This gives us the opportunity to talk about what you'd like to improve, assess your skin and hair type, answer your questions and discuss the options available.
For new IPL clients, a patch test is required before your first treatment. This is an important part of the consultation and treatment process and allows me to ensure that your treatment is approached carefully and appropriately.
