How the IPL treatment works

We make your appointments straightforward and tailored to your comfort:

1. A thin layer of gel is applied to your skin to ensure the best light transmission.

2. Short, safe bursts of intense pulsed light (called SWT° technology by Ellipse, but often referred to as a laser) are directed at the skin.

3. The system filters the light to ensure the wavelengths used are absorbed by haemoglobin in the blood in your problem vessels.

4. Light is converted to heat, which destroying the protein in the wall of the thread vein, causing the veins to gradually disappear after treatment.

What to expect

• Treatment sessions: depending on the severity and location of the thread veins, multiple sessions may be required to achieve optimal results. Each session typically lasts 15 to 30 minutes.
• Immediate aftercare: post-treatment, you may experience mild redness or swelling, similar to a sunburn, which usually subsides within a few hours to a couple of days. Applying a cool compress and keeping the area moisturized can help alleviate discomfort.
• Sun protection: protecting the treated area from sun exposure is crucial to ensure the best results and prevent complications. Using a broad-spectrum SPF 30 and above sunscreen is strongly advised.
